In recent years, whale watching has become a big business in Iceland. The downside of this activity from the client side is that, when you go whale watching, it is of course not certain that you will actually see a whale. Luckily in Icelandic waters, there are large whale stocks of various species and the success rate of spotting whales is very high. In Reykjavik by the old harbour area, you can find about 3-4 tour operators that offer whale watching. There are some other tour operators in the countryside, most notable one is Gentle Giants at Husavik. It claims to have 98% success rate of spotting whales on tours. Many of those tour operators also offer other kinds of activity on sea tours, for example bird sighting, sea angling(deep sea fishing) and so on.
