Bar/Pub

      Grandrokk

Interesting place. Often hosts concerts on the upper floor, usually requiring a fair admission fee to the upper floor. Lively pub/bar on the down floor, the locals often play chess or card games at week days and sometimes at weekend evenings as well. Mostly middle age people, but on the upper floor when concerts are going on you find all ages. Offers menu on day and at evening.

Smidjurstigur 6 - 101 Reykjavik

      Dillon

A place worth taking a look at. Consists of two floors with a bar on each floor. At daytime in good weather they sometimes keep the backyard open for customers. Offer DJ's on weekend nights, playing classic rock. If you start your pub/bar stroll on top of Laugavegur then it is not a bad idea to give it a try. Also establishing itself as a sports bar.

      Celtic Cross

Celtic Cross classifies itself as an Irish bar. Famed in Iceland for wide variety of beer brands on stock. Offers 2 floors, with bars on both, offering a dance floor on the lower floor. Situated right next to Grandrokk.

      The Dubliner

Pretty much like most Dubliner bars around Europe. Cozy interior, classic music but lively often folk music and of course good ale. The place is lively on weekends, but like most places, has lost some clients because of smoking ban.

      Prikid

One of Iceland's most popular places. Their schedule for dj's and concerts is usually packed many weeks in advance. They keep the place open until about 05.30 so no need for most people to move to pick themselves up and move elsewhere after closure. 2 floors. Only disadvantage is that it can get very crowded sometimes.

Bankastraeti 12 - 101 Reykjavik

      Cafe Cultura

One of Iceland's most interesting places, at least the one offering the most international atmosphere. Immigrants in Iceland visit this place regularily and a guess out in the dark would put them to 50% of the guests there on a normal weekend night. Definitely worth taking a look at.
